Drumstick

The fruits and leaves of this tree are used for cooking in many parts of India. They have a slightly bitter flavor. The saragoves are long and resemble a stick hence its name. Drumsticks are especially popular in South Indian cooking and found in the traditional sambar and avial.

Dates

Dates are fruit having deep brown in color and sweet taste of one variety of Palm tree. They are available mostly in dried form and are used mostly in sweets and are also used as such. How to use :- Cut into halves and remove the seed. As reqd slices can be made of the thick sticky and juicy fruit. Store in an air tight container in a dry place or in the refrigerator. Can be stored for a very long period.

English Fish Fry

Ingrediants:

  • 8 , Pc Fsh Fillet (Bhetki,Tilapia,Basa)
  • 1, tsp Lemon Juice
  • 2, tsp Grated garlic
  • 3, tsp Grated Ginger
  • 1,tsp Pepper Powder
  • 2, Egg
  •  Bread Crumb (as reqd)

Instructions:

  1. Put the fish pieces in one single layer in a shallow bowl. Sprinkle salt to taste and one tsp lemon juice. Keep aside for 15 minutes. Strain out any water.
  2. Marinade the fish pieces with Ginger and Garlic paste or preferrably juice of ginger and garlic. Sprinkle black pepper powder. Marinade for minimum half an hour.
  3. Take each of the fish pieces out from the marinade and drain the excess liquid.
  4. In a shallow bowl whisk white of the two eggs to a smooth consistency. Add pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well.
  5. Take bread crumb in a flat plate.
  6. Take the fish pieces one by one, roll it in bread crumb–> dip it in the egg white mixture. –> roll in bread crumb again gently rolling off any excess.
  7. Heat oil and then gently slide in the fish fillets. Reduce heat and when the fish has nicely browned on both sides take out with a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel.
  8. Serve hot  with Kasundi (mustard sauce) or Tarter Sauce or Maggi Hot & Sweet Tomato Sauce and with  chopped onion &  cucumber.
